Why doesn't this counting sheep thing work?
Getting a good nights rest is important for your physical and mental health. Think of all the things you do in your day and the time you allow to do them. Is sleep a priority for you? It should be.

The Sleep Foundation has done extensive research and concluded that despite thinking you need less sleep as you grow older, Adults still require 7 to 9 hours sleep each night. If you are not giving yourself enough time to sleep each night, your physical health will suffer and your mental health will suffer as well. With all the struggles life can present us with, keeping up on sleep is an easy way to ensure you are at your best everyday! Put off those extra chores or TV shows and give yourself some rest.

If you have a hard time falling to sleep, try counting your blessings instead of sheep. Falling asleep with thoughts of gratitude is a great way to combat worries from the day.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being here with me now. I am so tired Lord and I long for a good nights sleep. When I lay down at night, my worries fill my head and I can't shut them off. Lord, please help quiet my mind so I can rest easy. I know I need sleep to replenish my body, mind and spirit. Please be with me, Lord, when I lay down to sleep so that I may wake up refreshed and ready to face the day tomorrow.
Thank you for all the Blessings you have given me.
